The Senior Network Engineer's primary role is overseeing and ensuring smooth operation, reliability, and access to the entire enterprise network. This position takes an end-to-end view of all systems and networks with a strong emphasis on system integration and security. The Senior Network Engineer may be required to supervise the work of other network staff. This role involves defining future network architecture, mapping business strategies to technology strategies, and aligning business needs with the IT infrastructure. In this position, the Senior Network Engineer will perform essential functions such as leading and supervising network staff, assigning work, distributing workload, authorizing timesheets, approving vacation requests, and assisting in recruitment and evaluation processes. The engineer will also prepare the network budget and ensure the health, reliability, and security of the company's local and wide-area networks by monitoring and analyzing network hardware, software, utilization, and availability logs, taking corrective actions as required. Additionally, the Senior Network Engineer will plan resource allocation and develop work plans for the network group, manage multiple and simultaneous complex technology projects with significant impact on the company, and manage new services, business solutions, service delivery, and/or migration to new systems. Participation in the strategic planning for the company's enterprise network is also a key responsibility. The engineer will resolve escalated complex network system limitations and access problems for all enterprise systems, review network policies, and deliver recommendations based on current and future needs and industry best practices. Knowledge transfer among team members is crucial, and the engineer will prepare and maintain documentation for networks, systems, processes, procedures, written instructions, and solutions to problems. Providing consultation to executive management and effectively overseeing junior staff and vendors/suppliers are also part of the role. Regular professional development through educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations is expected. The essential functions of this position are to be performed in a company-designated office or field location, and compliance with the company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics is mandatory.
