The Senior Network Engineer may be required to supervise the work of other network staff. This role involves defining future network architecture, mapping business strategies to technology strategies, and aligning business needs with the IT infrastructure. In this position, the Senior Network Engineer will perform essential functions such as leading and supervising network staff, assigning work, distributing workload, authorizing timesheets, approving vacation requests, and assisting in recruitment and evaluation processes. Additionally, the Senior Network Engineer will plan resource allocation and develop work plans for the network group, manage multiple and simultaneous complex technology projects with significant impact on the company, and manage new services, business solutions, service delivery, and/or migration to new systems. Participation in the strategic planning for the company's enterprise network is also a key responsibility. The engineer will resolve escalated complex network system limitations and access problems for all enterprise systems, review network policies, and deliver recommendations based on current and future needs and industry best practices. Knowledge transfer among team members is crucial, and the engineer will prepare and maintain documentation for networks, systems, processes, procedures, written instructions, and solutions to problems. Providing consultation to executive management and effectively overseeing junior staff and vendors/suppliers are also part of the role. Regular professional development through educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations is expected.
