About the position

In this role, you will manage network elements for both voice and data networks, ensuring optimal performance and capacity utilization. Your responsibilities will include monitoring network performance, evaluating capacity needs, and submitting capacity triggers as necessary. You will also be tasked with forecasting and analyzing bandwidth growth trends to produce capacity triggers for bandwidth relief, developing plans to augment capacity as needed. This position requires a strong focus on engineering work, applied research, and the design of new projects, which includes the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of equipment and devices. You will specialize in planning and/or engineering, analyzing complex local and wide area network systems, and customer network environments. This includes planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with various devices such as concentrators and bridges. You will handle moderately complex engineering assignments and configure systems to meet user environments, resolving interoperability issues across all platforms, including email, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing. Additionally, you will support the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services.
