About the position

The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Ground Infrastructure team for NGG-OPIR, focusing on hands-on physical components such as Network, Hardware, and RF. This position requires maintaining operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, and COTS software products while performing Network Administration and System Administration tasks within the scope of the contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco routers and switches, capable of building networks from the ground up and designing network solutions with minimal guidance. The Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and correcting system performance issues, applying network configurations, and leading network design efforts. Familiarity with Cisco Nexus, ASA, and FMC technologies for Software-Defined Networking is essential, as well as knowledge of advanced networking concepts and best practices in a software development environment. The role also includes providing on-the-job training on system configuration, assisting in deploying software and hardware deliveries, and supporting special projects. The candidate will work closely with operational crews and contractor teams to resolve system and network issues effectively. Additionally, the position requires an active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Candidates with an active TS/SCI clearance will be preferred. Experience with Agile methodologies and the full software development cycle is also necessary, along with CCNA certification and experience with Firepower NGFW, BGP routing, and switching. While Satcom experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to contribute to a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering.
  • Heavy hands-on experience working with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Ability to build networks from the ground up.
  • Network design experience with little to no guidance.
  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
