In this role, you will manage network elements for both voice and data networks, ensuring optimal performance and capacity utilization. Your responsibilities will include monitoring network performance, evaluating capacity needs, and submitting capacity triggers as necessary. You will also be tasked with forecasting and analyzing bandwidth growth trends to proactively address capacity relief needs. This position requires you to develop strategic plans to augment capacity as required, ensuring that our network infrastructure can support the growing demands of our customers. You will be responsible for triggering projects that utilize the most feasible, practical, and economical means to achieve our goals. Your engineering work will involve applied research, development, and design of new projects, which includes the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of equipment and devices. Specializing in planning and/or engineering, you will analyze complex local and wide area network systems, as well as customer network environments. This includes planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with various devices such as concentrators and bridges. In addition to handling moderately complex engineering assignments, you will configure systems to meet user environments and resolve interoperability issues across all platforms, including email, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing. You will also support the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services. As a technical project leader, you will provide work leadership for lower-level employees, although this role does not include full supervisory responsibilities and requires limited direction and guidance.
