About the position

The Sr. Network Engineer position is a contract role based in Germantown, MD, focused on the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of network systems for enterprise customers. The role requires a strong background in network engineering and the ability to work with various networking products and protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, troubleshoot, and manage routing and switching of Enterprise Customers' terrestrial networks.
• Ensure the secure transmission of network traffic through network nodes.
• Work on different vendors like Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Velcloud, Cradlepoint products to build and manage Customer networks.
• Enable new features in networking devices and implement network systems improvements to enhance network performance and reliability.
• Configure and support Enterprise Customers' routers and switches with networking protocols to ensure seamless communication among network devices.
• Work on Windows and Linux servers to troubleshoot network issues and to analyze network performance.
• Perform firmware upgrades on networking devices for bug fixes and enhancements.
• Use Python Programming Language for config management in cloudify orchestration system and use Python to automate processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Python programming for automation and configuration management.
• Familiarity with cloud orchestration systems.
