Our customer, a global computer networking company, is searching for a senior network engineer responsible for providing design, implementation, and operational support to the entire company. The successful candidate will be a self-starting, highly motivated person who has experience working with the latest networking technologies and can manage multiple projects, implementations, and steady-state operations simultaneously. Supporting over 30 locations worldwide, the Senior Network Engineer is a leadership role for the team, ensuring the stability and integrity of global LANs/WAN, Wireless LAN, Cloud architecture, remote access, Unified Communications, internet services, and general network services. This position covers all Network Engineering & Operations aspects, including capacity planning, service delivery, and support using the latest technologies. The Senior Network Engineer will provide network technology planning, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support for the company's data centers worldwide. This includes support for public/private multi-cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, VMware VCF/NSX, Equinix) and engineering and administration of core foundational infrastructure such as LAN/WAN/WLAN, Internet, MPLS, routing, switching, security (firewalls), and SDWAN. The role also involves the implementation and support of virtual network infrastructure, network monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning tools and services. The engineer will support remote access services (SSL VPN, Citrix, S2S VPNs) and automate network tasks and information gathering using scripts and tools. The position requires planned lifecycle and incident-driven change management complying with established standards, processes, and procedures with no impact to business operations. The Senior Network Engineer will contribute towards continuous service improvement activities related to public cloud platforms and related services, ensuring all infrastructure components meet established SLAs, performance benchmarks, and capacity standards. Participation in Change Management Review Boards and Root Cause Analysis meetings is also required, along with creating and maintaining technical documentation, including standard operational procedures, runbooks, and training documents. The engineer will draft and maintain accurate topology diagrams for all network infrastructure and services, partner with other Infrastructure / IT service delivery teams supporting project planning, implementation, and operational support, and collaborate with and mentor team members. Additionally, the engineer will support 24x7 service management and operations coverage through an on-call rotation, resolving incidents and issues for internal business partners, customer support teams, and external partners.
