About the position

Lumen is seeking a skilled professional to manage network elements for voice and data networks, ensuring optimal capacity utilization and performance. This role involves monitoring and evaluating network capacity, submitting capacity triggers as necessary, and forecasting bandwidth growth to produce capacity triggers for bandwidth relief. The successful candidate will develop plans to augment capacity relief as needed, ensuring that the network infrastructure can support the growing demands of the business. In this position, you will be responsible for triggering projects that utilize the most feasible, practical, and economical means. You will perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new projects, which includes the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of equipment and devices. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing complex local and wide area network systems, as well as customer network environments. This includes planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. You will handle moderately complex engineering assignments and configure systems to user environments, resolving difficult interoperability problems to ensure operation across all platforms, including e-mail, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing. Additionally, you will support the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services. As a technical project leader, you will provide work leadership for lower-level employees, although this role excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities and requires limited direction and guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages network elements for voice and data networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • 6 - 8 years of related experience.
  • Strong focus on scripting and tools such as Ansible, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.
  • MEF Certified or MEF Aware.
  • Excellent documentation/technical writing skills required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
