About the position

The Sr Network Manager is responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure. This role involves performance monitoring and ensuring security compliance while leading major network projects to support capacity growth and upgrades. The position requires a strong technical background in IT networking, with a focus on enterprise-level solutions and security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
  • Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation of a statewide network.
  • Developing and analyzing network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment.
  • Performing planning, engineering, forecasting and implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems.
  • Leading and/or assisting in major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades and new products/features, and integration.
  • Evaluating current network systems and recommending changes in maintenance and systems standards.
  • Training support personnel on conversion, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Applying in-depth knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends for LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center, Cloud networking.
  • Driving improvements in network process, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Ensuring security compliance, change control processes and adherence to standards.
  • Providing upper tier diagnosis, isolation, and resolution of network problems.
  • Identifying and documenting root cause and proactively identifying potential issues in the production environment.
  • Developing comprehensive graphical and text-based documentation and managing the implementation process from design to acceptance.
  • Hosting weekly status meetings/calls with team or as needed.
  • Leading, scheduling, and overseeing activities with team members to resolve end user hardware and software problems.
  • Assisting in the creation of robust network designs and providing ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Oversight of configuration, maintenance, and documentation of network devices.
  • Reporting project progress and status, weekly time reporting, and any additional reports as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field.
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or Security Certification.
  • Ten years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security Certification issued within the last four years.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Certification issued within the last four years.
  • Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) Certification from Palo Alto Networks issued within the last four years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Layer 2 & 3 optimization and boundary virtual switching systems.
  • Knowledge of coding languages for scripting.
  • Familiarity with major server desktop operating systems and utilities.
