About the position

The Sr. Network Security Engineer at TEKsystems is responsible for providing security services support for the clients' Palo Alto Firewalls environment. This role involves responding to operational requests, acting as a second level of escalation for incident resolution, and collaborating with the Security Manager to review new technologies and standards. The engineer will also assist in developing SOPs, runbooks, and other operational resources for the security team, while monitoring traffic logs and ensuring the overall health of network security.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain network and security components, including network monitoring systems.
• Manage all security equipment supporting the enterprise for both project and operational requirements.
• Evaluate new network and security technology.
• Analyze firewall policies and configurations to ensure compliance with business requirements.
• Review and complete firewall requests.
• Test network and security systems.
• Monitor and resolve network incidents on a 24X7 basis.
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and security hardware and software interconnection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in network & cyber security, or a high school diploma with 15 years of experience.
• PCNSA and/or PCNSE certifications.
• Strong experience with Palo Alto NGFW security products, including Palo Alto Panorama & Firewalls and Global Protects.
• Experience designing and deploying security technologies and load balancer solutions.
• Experience managing large application build and move projects.
• Strong background with Service and Change Management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Palo Alto Panorama, Firewalls, Prisma, and Imperva's WAF.
• Ability to present complex technical concepts in understandable language.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Experience creating and presenting project plans and designs.
