About the position

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Network Validation Engineer to work with networking products such as InfiniBand and Ethernet. The role involves collaborating with engineering, product management, and technical staff to develop debugging tools, test plans, and automation strategies. The engineer will be responsible for validating various networking hardware and ensuring high-quality performance through rigorous testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform switch, ethernet cards, infiniband switch and HBAs validations.
  • Conduct functionality testing, compatibility testing, performance testing, stress and reliability testing.
  • Report hardware and software quality issues into bug tracking systems.
  • Document and analyze test data.
  • Maintain and improve validation test plans and test instructions.
  • Contribute in the development of test utilities and test script automation.
  • Support internal and external quality issues and drive to issue resolution.

Requirements

  • 8 years experience in relevant field.
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of working knowledge in hardware/networking field is strongly desirable.
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certifications a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking, TCP/IP, L2/L3, SDN, OPA, InfiniBand, etc.
  • Familiar with Linux, Windows, and networking.
  • Strong in python, and bash scripting.
  • Power shell scripting is a plus.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and a good team player, strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of server performance benchmarks and tuning is a plus.
