About the position

The Sr Node AWS Backend Developer role is a contract position focused on backend development using Node.js and AWS technologies. The position requires strong experience in designing and implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CDK, along with a solid understanding of microservice architecture. This role is critical for developing scalable backend solutions for a global client based in Cary, NC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js.
• Design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CDK.
• Work with AWS serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in backend development.
• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proficient in AWS serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, AWS Event Bridge).
• Experience with microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (preferably AWS CDK, AWS SAM, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of React and Redux is a plus.
