The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Sr. O&M Network Engineer to manage various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position is crucial for providing routing and boundary protection to an enterprise-level infrastructure across multiple classifications. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert in routing and boundary technologies across various vendors, ensuring the security and efficiency of the network systems. In this role, the Sr. O&M Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the security and networking of enterprise boundary enclaves and devices. This includes Tier III Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of Juniper and Cisco routers, which involves troubleshooting and implementing routing updates. The engineer will also implement new firewall rules and manage associated routing to fulfill firewall change requests. Additionally, the position requires the installation of software, applying patches, managing file systems, and monitoring the performance of firewall systems. The engineer will provide support for various firewall equipment and applications, including Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint. They will generate and implement custom proxy policies in response to ongoing technology implementation activities and serve as a Proxy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the integration of other technologies within the program. Troubleshooting web connectivity problems to determine root causes and performing upgrades, testing, and configuration of Proxy solutions are also key responsibilities. Moreover, the engineer will research and develop techniques for evidence collection, protection, and analysis for customer-owned hardware and software. They will provide real-time monitoring and alerting of security incident investigations on perimeter/internal infrastructure and support day-to-day O&M for all incident management events and outages. Collaboration with IT staff on projects and initiatives, as well as providing input for monthly progress and status reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), are essential aspects of this role. The engineer will also work with corresponding technical support teams to resolve network traffic concerns and utilize monitoring tools for in-depth analysis of traffic anomalies and issues.
