About the position

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Senior Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Network Engineer to manage various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position is critical in providing routing and boundary protection to an enterprise-level infrastructure across multiple classifications. The Senior O&M Network Engineer will act as a subject matter expert in routing and boundary technologies across multiple vendors, ensuring the security and efficiency of the network infrastructure. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for maintaining the security and networking of enterprise boundary enclaves and devices. This includes Tier III O&M of Juniper and Cisco routers, which involves troubleshooting and implementing routing updates. The engineer will also implement new firewall rules and associated routing to fulfill firewall change requests, ensuring that the network remains secure and compliant with organizational policies. The position requires the installation of software, application of patches, management of file systems, and monitoring of firewall system performance. The engineer will provide support for various firewall equipment and applications, including Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint. Additionally, the engineer will generate and implement custom proxy policies and policy exceptions in response to ongoing technology implementation activities on the program, acting as a Proxy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the integration of other technologies. The Senior O&M Network Engineer will also support troubleshooting of web connectivity problems to determine root causes, perform upgrades and testing of Proxy solution components, and research evidence collection and analysis techniques for customer-owned hardware and software. Real-time monitoring and alerting of security incident investigations on perimeter/internal infrastructure will be part of the daily responsibilities, along with providing day-to-day O&M support for all incident management events and outages. Collaboration with IT staff on projects and initiatives, as well as input for monthly progress and status reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), will also be required. The engineer will work with corresponding technical support teams to resolve network traffic concerns and utilize monitoring tools and log collectors for in-depth analysis of traffic anomalies and issues.
