About the position

This Onboarding Accounting Specialist will work on the Initialization Team, you will be part of the Uplinq Onboarding Department. Your primary focus will be to work closely with the Onboarding Specialists to provide initial bookkeeping to clients; create, document, and execute on bookkeeping SOPs; and handoff clients to the maintenance bookkeeping team. The Initialization Team plays a vital role in the UPLINQ experience, as this team is expected to catch the vast majority of unique processes required in a client's accounting system. This team also handles a portion of Catch Up bookkeeping. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Onboarding Specialists to provide initial bookkeeping to clients.
  • Create, document, and execute on bookkeeping SOPs.
  • Handoff clients to the maintenance bookkeeping team.
  • Engage effectively with high-value clients to optimize their account setups.
  • Lead and support a team in bookkeeping tasks.
  • Transition companies to maintenance bookkeeping.
  • Communicate complex accounting data clearly to clients.
  • Design and implement comprehensive setups for new clients.
  • Lead troubleshooting initiatives within QuickBooks Online.
  • Analyze and rectify bookkeeping issues, devising action plans.
  • Develop strategic action plans for extensive accounting projects.
  • Collaborate on high-level client interactions to refine accounting services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in both cash and accrual based accounting.
  • Public accounting experience with a variety of small businesses.
  • Expertise in financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex catch-up and clean-up projects.
  • Ability to master configuring and optimizing setups for bookkeeping services.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey intricate accounting data.
