About the position

The Senior Operations Manager at Lactalis North America is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes within the Fresh Mozzarella Department in Nampa, Idaho. This role focuses on ensuring that manufacturing performance, volume, and quality goals are met through efficient methods and appropriate staffing. The position requires collaboration with various departments and contractors, as well as managing employee performance and addressing operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Direct adjustments of manufacturing processes to meet standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with workplace and government-mandated standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA).
• Maintain all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and contribute to manufacturing reports and present them to top management.
• Ensure the safety of personnel through continual inspection of the department and processes.
• Coordinate departmental activities with other managers.
• Explain variances in labor costs and productivity.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, and QC policies and procedures.
• Assist the Plant Director in preparing and executing annual budgets and Cap Ex projects.
• Establish and communicate company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
• Ensure quality assurance programs prevent or eliminate defects in products.
• Complete department-specific initiatives, including capital projects.
• Support and maintain a safe and positive work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or technical school required.
• 3 - 4 years of related experience in food production and packaging or a related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP rules and regulations at all levels.
