About the position

As a Senior Operations Research Analyst, you will be a key member of the Hertz Fleet team, responsible for analyzing data, building reports, and managing inputs for optimization models. Your role will directly impact the efficiency of the Hertz rental fleet, ensuring that the right vehicles are available at the right time to meet demand while minimizing costs. You will leverage your analytical skills to improve fleet utilization, fulfill rental demand, and enhance car sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and build reports for the Hertz Fleet team.
• Manage inputs for optimization models affecting the rental fleet.
• Translate optimization model recommendations into business implications and monetary impacts.
• Write queries in SQL, R, or Python for data extraction and cleaning.
• Build automation tools for reporting to improve fleet processes.
• Create data visualizations in Tableau to present insights clearly.
• Collect, categorize, maintain, and analyze data using quantitative techniques.
• Perform detailed analysis of key business metrics and provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with other departments to design and build reporting tools using various platforms.
• Develop insights from complex unstructured data and maintain data integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience, or 2 years of relevant experience with a master's degree.
• 2 years of work experience in data analytics and/or data sciences in a business or academic setting.
• Extensive experience with scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS.
• Proven ability to use data to drive operational changes and improvements.
• Competency in identifying and manipulating data sources for dashboards and reports.
• Experience with optimization models or data science models.
• Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with AWS, S3, Databricks, Gurobi, and Athena.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of linear programming.
• Exposure to supply chain topics in a professional setting.
• Experience in car rental or fleet management.
