About the position

The Sr. Operations Specialist - Electrical is a pivotal role that leads operations in the field, focusing on oil and gas well operations, well testing, and the operation and maintenance of field equipment and facilities. This position is responsible for the surveillance of general field operations and the maintenance of various databases related to production operations. The specialist may also monitor or lead the work of lower-level operations specialists, providing operational assistance based on their specialty. Key responsibilities include calibrating equipment, troubleshooting issues, and interpreting results from POC and Well Analyzer systems. The role emphasizes the importance of ensuring safe and environmentally sound operations, identifying problematic scenarios, and implementing preventative measures within the assigned area of responsibility. In this role, the specialist will lead the surveillance of field operations, providing advanced technical and mechanical assistance to production operations personnel. They will analyze various tickets, work orders, records, and reports to manage trends and support recommendations to management. The specialist will also train, mentor, and coach less experienced employees while conducting job safety analyses. Participation in integrated solutions meetings and interaction with engineers is expected, along with managing and supporting all areas of operations to ensure that internal processes and daily requirements are fulfilled. Coordination with third-party contractors for installation and preventive maintenance programs is also a critical aspect of this position. The Sr. Operations Specialist is expected to conduct business with the highest ethical standards, demonstrating decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all personnel associated with the facilities. Other duties may be assigned by supervision, and the specialist must maintain a commitment to continuous improvement and development of individual knowledge and skills. This role requires advanced numeric and analytical skills, the ability to handle multiple projects, and a strong understanding of established policies, standards, and practices within the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the surveillance of field operations and maintain various databases regarding production operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years of work experience required, with oil and gas industry experience being a plus.
  • Advanced ability to perform tasks in the area of operations specialty.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of discipline-specific programs such as Well View, AFE Navigator, and SCADA.
  • Advanced numeric and analytical skills with the ability to mine data sets and recognize patterns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and recommend solutions to complex business and technical problems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electrical systems operations and safety processes specific to Energy Isolation and NFPA 70E Guidance.
  • Familiarity with SCADA/I&E team coordination for project execution.
  • Experience in scheduling and managing Primary Overhead EDS inspections and related activities.
