The Sr. Operations Specialist at S&P Global plays a crucial role in overseeing Trade Settlement client relationships, ensuring that excellent customer service and loan settlement services are provided to a growing client base. This position is integral to the Middle Office team, which is responsible for managing client portfolios and agency trades within the loan Trade Settlement outsourcing services. The role requires proactive communication with clients and coordination with trade counterparties to manage documentation for both par and distressed trades. The specialist will also liaise with legal counsel when necessary, particularly for distressed trades and participations, ensuring that all trade closings are executed smoothly among clients, counterparties, and agents. In addition to managing client interactions, the Sr. Operations Specialist will review trade documentation, including trade confirms, assignment agreements, and funding memos, to identify discrepancies prior to settlement. This involves utilizing third-party systems to track outstanding trades and maintain updated comments. The role also includes delivering closing packets to custodians and clients before specified deadlines and reporting client metrics and trends on a monthly basis. The position demands a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, especially during high-volume periods such as quarter-end. The ideal candidate will possess a BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience, along with a solid understanding of par and distressed loans, trade fee calculations, and the ability to interpret credit agreements. A strong work ethic, initiative, and ownership of job responsibilities are essential, as is the ability to perform duties accurately and meet deadlines. The role offers exposure to external industry entities, including portfolio managers, custodians, and agent banks, making it a dynamic and impactful position within the organization.
