About the position

The Senior Oracle DBA/Developer will support the Oracle OMS and eSRI based GIS environment and databases, focusing on performance monitoring, optimization, and maintenance of various database systems. This role involves managing server requests, ensuring data synchronization, and maintaining geospatial data models for gas and electric utilities. The position requires expertise in Oracle and GIS technologies, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and implement effective backup and recovery strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support Oracle OMS and eSRI based GIS Environment & Databases
• Handle OMS and GIS related Linux/Windows server requests built to Client standards
• Monitor and optimize performance of all ArcGIS/ArcFM Environments
• Maintain sync jobs and report failures to the Application Points of Contact (PoCs)
• Support build deployments and maintain configuration stores
• Provide ongoing database maintenance, optimizing databases for specific applications
• Update database software as required
• Compress and rebuild indexes for SDE
• Maintain growth, scalability, tasks, and schedules
• Manage data synchronization and replication
• Maintain current editing workflows and version architecture
• Manage enterprise geospatial data models for Gas and Electric
• Maintain the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and plan migrations
• Install, configure, upgrade, and manage GIS applications on Windows and Unix servers
• Create and manage ArcGIS user accounts, instances, services, and permissions
• Design and manage SDE-Oracle database storage according to best practices
• Implement disaster recovery plans for SDE servers and Oracle databases
• Script and schedule shell scripts and batch scripts for monitoring
• Perform server upgrades, install patches, and service packs as necessary
• Set up SDE multi-user editing database and perform database compress and re-orgs after editing
• Update spatial metadata views with dimensional information about geometrics
• Create spatial indexes and partitioned spatial indexes
• Support version activities and perform database reorgs to improve performance
• Install and configure Oracle Application server and mapview for Oracle Spatial
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and application problems
• Monitor OS file system, I/O, CPU, SWAP, memory, and network utilizations
• Implement and maintain Oracle partitioning for performance
• Perform server consolidation from Solaris to Linux
• Write PL/SQL programs to automate database maintenance activities
• Assist developers in functional, unit, and integration testing of applications
• Manage database security, session management, and auditing strategies
• Perform documentation, tracking, analysis, and validation of functional requirements
• Load spatial and non-spatial data using various methods
• Develop, test, and deploy PLSQL programs for automation
• Create and manage stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and indexes
• Monitor OS file system and resource utilizations
• Manage small to large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with creating stored procedures in SQL
• Advanced SQL development in Oracle SQL Developer
• Experience with optimal Oracle database design
• Experience as a Senior Database Administrator
