About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in managing and supporting Oracle databases and Hyperion. The role involves installing, upgrading, patching, tuning, and providing support for Oracle databases, with a focus on performance evaluation and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, patch, tune, and support Oracle databases and Hyperion.
• Evaluate performance and implement tuning strategies using OEM or third-party tools.
• Automate, script, and streamline database processes for efficiency and accuracy using Unix shell scripting or other tools.
• Develop processes and procedures to standardize database installations, configurations, and patching.
• Implement and maintain Disaster Recovery environments using Data Guard.
• Schedule and utilize ASH/AWR/ADDM reports and take corrective actions as needed.
• Manage Oracle Multitenancy, including Container and Pluggable databases.
• Set up and schedule RMAN backups and perform successful database restores.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing and supporting Oracle databases and Hyperion.
• Experience with Oracle 19c, 18c, 12c, and 11g architecture and database infrastructure design.
• Strong experience with Solaris, Red Hat Linux, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of Oracle backup methodologies and their implementation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Hyperion, MySQL, and Cassandra.
• Experience with RAC installation, maintenance, and patching.
