About the position

As a Senior Network Engineer at Jacobs, you will be at the forefront of contemporary industrial network design and cybersecurity, working with one of the largest technology and engineering firms in the world. Your role will involve configuring and securing high criticality industrial networks, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of operational technology (OT) systems. You will partner with Jacobs Industrial Control Systems (ICS) teams to deliver communication networks optimized for reliable automation and business operations. This position is critical in designing scalable and reliable network infrastructure in both greenfield and brownfield environments, leveraging your expertise in network telecommunications, firewall management, Windows OS, and TCP/IP protocols to engineer robust and secure networks of varying sizes and complexity. In this senior role, you will be responsible for the overall management of the design, implementation, and maintenance of the OT network infrastructure at one of our industrial sites. This includes selecting and configuring network hardware and software, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and industrial protocols. You will also be tasked with network security, monitoring, troubleshooting performance issues, and resolving network-related problems to minimize downtime. Your responsibilities will extend to setting up and maintaining networking and control infrastructure in accordance with company standards, working closely with OT Network Management to provide solutions for maintenance and operations. You will create and maintain detailed network diagrams of the manufacturing industrial infrastructure, including network, server, cabling, rack level, and logical architecture, along with procedures and plans to support current and future projects. Additionally, you will procure equipment per project requirements and travel to project sites to provide support for ICS networks, manage and maintain converged platforms, virtualization, networks, security platforms, and various other OT/IoT technologies. Your role will also involve reviewing network architectures to ensure compliance with good practices and providing recommendations to align with applicable cybersecurity frameworks for industrial environment controls. This position offers an exciting opportunity to build a career in network engineering at the cutting edge of OT network design and engineering, contributing to Jacobs' mission of building a more connected and sustainable world.
