About the position

The Senior Manager, Paid Media at PayPal will lead paid media programs aimed at small business marketing, focusing on driving awareness, consideration, direct conversion, lead generation, and product adoption. This role involves designing and executing strategies across various platforms while ensuring alignment with business goals, budgets, and timelines, all while optimizing for return on investment (ROI). The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with paid media agencies to achieve measurable results that foster small business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement paid media strategies across platforms like Google Ads and social media.
  • Align campaigns with internal business goals, managing budgets and timelines while optimizing for engagement, sales, and leads.
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies to improve ROI based on data insights.
  • Analyze KPIs and collaborate with analytics teams to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to refine future campaigns and enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as Growth Strategy, Creative, and Global to ensure integration of paid media efforts with larger business initiatives.
  • Develop and share paid media best practices and playbooks for local market teams.
  • Manage relationships with paid media agencies, overseeing deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
  • Define and improve agency processes for campaign trafficking, reporting, and insights.
  • Report on pacing and budget delivery, informing stakeholders of any under/overperformance.

Requirements

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in paid media channels, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other digital platforms.
  • Strong ability to report on performance and generate actionable insights to optimize campaign effectiveness.
  • Proven experience in managing agency relationships and overseeing performance.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience in defining processes and guiding teams of managers, associates, and coordinators.
  • Experience managing campaigns across global markets.
  • Experienced in designing measurement frameworks for paid media and testing methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of the small business customer.
