The Sr. Payroll Processing Specialist at Publix Super Markets plays a crucial role in supporting the technical aspects of the Payroll department. This position requires a deep understanding of payroll systems, federal regulations, and individual state requirements. The specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for each cycle, ensuring accuracy in wage types, payroll earnings, taxes, deductions, and payroll adjustments. Additionally, the role involves assisting other business areas with appropriate balancing techniques, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of payroll operations. In this position, the specialist will utilize their technical knowledge of SAP HR and/or Finance to navigate complex payroll scenarios, including Paid Time Off (PTO) and overpayment issues. The role demands exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to handle a high volume of work accurately and timely. The specialist must also maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to constant changes in the payroll landscape. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a flexible schedule available.
