Hannah Savage with Robert Half is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to become a key member of her client's team. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing high-volume payroll processes, including working with union employees and overseeing full-cycle payroll. You will be the right hand to the Payroll Manager, providing support and expertise in all payroll-related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume payrolls accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Manage payroll for union employees, including handling complex union agreements and calculations.
  • Perform full-cycle payroll tasks, including data entry, processing payroll changes, and managing payroll deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll integration and accuracy.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports, tax filings, and year-end processing.
  • Support the Payroll Manager in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of strong, in-house payroll processing experience, with a focus on high-volume payroll.
  • Experience working with union employees and understanding of union agreements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems; experience with specific payroll software is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
