About the position

The Electrical Engineer III position at TK Elevator in Atlanta, GA is a critical role focused on designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for various electronic interfaces. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that PCB designs meet product functionality, specifications, and industry standards, while also maintaining the company's Altium libraries. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Designers, Developers, and Programmers to develop, troubleshoot, and implement PCB designs.
  • Understand and apply the A17.1 elevator code in all designs.
  • Support vendors for internal and outsourced projects by applying PCB design guidelines and IPC standards.
  • Create and interpret electrical/electronic schematics and work from preliminary schematics and part lists.
  • Generate testing requirements, project timing, and run lab testing for prototype development and validation.
  • Assist in designing and specifying PCBA development simulators and functional testing benches.
  • Maintain and manage TKE internal Altium components and circuits libraries, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines.
  • Upgrade and develop tools/applications to enhance team efficiency in PCB development activities.
  • Provide design direction and mentorship to Junior Electrical Engineers.
  • Interact with other engineering departments to ensure compliance with internal and external communication requirements.
  • Maintain engineering documentation files and incorporate engineering changes from mechanical and electrical engineers.
  • Stay current with PCB design trends and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15 years of related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB design.
  • Advanced level proficiency with Altium package software and experience with Pcad.
  • Strong understanding of PCB fabrication processes and technologies.
  • Experience with design rule checks, signal integrity, and thermal analysis.
  • Comprehension of general electrical engineering concepts required.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with electrical schematics design and PCB design/routing with Altium/P-CAD or similar tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using mechanical design software such as SolidWorks.
  • Hands-on technical wiring and assembly of mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with embedded software in microcontrollers and hardware/PCBA.
  • Experience in a lab environment with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, probes, and meters.
