About the position

Aon is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Delegated Investment Operations Team. This role focuses on US and Canadian pension liability estimation, asset and liability monitoring, and the implementation of investment strategies for Aon OCIO clients. The position requires a strong understanding of pension actuarial principles to effectively communicate valuation results to both actuarial and investment consultants, while also providing exposure to investment strategies and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Work on pension liability estimates for US and Canadian delegated clients for daily monitoring, including valuation and gain/loss analysis.
  • Manage annual census data updates, assumption changes, plan changes, mergers and spinoffs, annuity purchases, lump sum windows, and plan terminations.
  • Communicate liability results with investment and actuarial consultants.
  • Coordinate Risk Analyzer onboarding and reporting with US and Canadian investment operations teams.
  • Proactively manage pension settlement activities and monitoring adjustments in Risk Analyzer.
  • Coordinate project timing and deliverables with analyst and actuary teams.
  • Collaborate with lead actuary and technology teams to develop new features and models in various systems.
  • Implement Investment Policies for Delegated clients.
  • Assist Portfolio Manager team with trading activities and hedging analytics as needed.
  • Support client consulting teams with liability attribution and general plan status inquiries in different reporting platforms.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Optimize work processes and adhere to best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of pension actuarial experience
  • ASA or EA designation is a plus
  • Experience with Canadian or international pensions is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/VBA/macro
  • Experience with Eagle Pace, Bloomberg, and Power BI is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with an interest in investment, operations, technology, and database management
