About the position

The Sr Performance Engineer will be responsible for performance engineering tasks including analysis, testing, and tuning of software applications. This role requires extensive experience in performance analysis of distributed platforms and the ability to work in hybrid environments. The engineer will utilize various tools and methodologies to ensure optimal performance of applications, particularly in financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct performance analysis, testing, and tuning of software applications.
  • Develop and maintain n-tier, J2EE software applications.
  • Utilize performance analysis tools for distributed platforms including Linux, Windows, AWS, Containers, and VMware.
  • Perform advanced statistical and analytical modeling to assess performance metrics.
  • Implement load testing using tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
  • Script automation tasks using Perl, Unix shell, Python, Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.
  • Work with messaging systems like JMS/IBM-MQ and understand RESTful web services.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to ensure performance considerations are integrated into the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a Master's or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in performance engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in performance analysis, testing, and tuning.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing n-tier, J2EE software applications.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in Unix or Linux environments.
  • Expertise in performance analysis of distributed platforms including Linux, Windows, AWS, Containers, and VMware.
  • Experience with load testing tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Perl, Unix shell, Python, Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure services.
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with statistical modeling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB and relational databases like Oracle and MSSQL.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementations.
