About the position

The position provides oversight and guidance to the Upstream group at Aramco, ensuring a productive and supportive working environment. The candidate will offer expert technical advice in petroleum engineering, aligning industry perspectives with Aramco's operational objectives. This role requires a broad understanding of the industry and the ability to convert technical expertise into practical recommendations, while also supporting initiatives that align with corporate values.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert advice and assistance on operating problems relating to the area of expertise.
• Specifies design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of new projects within the area of expertise.
• Participates in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures to ensure efficient operations.
• Conducts economic studies on cost analysis to resolve alternative causes of action.
• Originates ideas for improvements and develops a basis for required field testing and management review.
• Recommends, designs, and oversees investigations to resolve problems exceeding current engineering knowledge.
• Represents Aramco in dealings with manufacturers, vendors, and outside consultants.
• Conducts seminars, prepares manuals, and trains Aramco engineers and operating personnel.

Requirements

• BS in engineering field is required.
• Typically has at least twenty (20) years of related experience, including ten (10) years of intensive experience in oil & gas specialty.
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend both orally and in writing in English at a high level.
• Recognized by supervisors and colleagues as thoroughly qualified and highly competent in area of expertise.

Nice-to-haves

• MS or PhD in engineering field is desirable but not required; intensive industry training including specialized courses and seminars is expected.
