About the position

We are looking for a skilled PHP Web Developer with strong frontend skills to join our agile team. This hybrid role involves developing and maintaining various research websites, ensuring high-quality web applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality web applications using PHP, JavaScript, React, Laravel Framework, and SQL.
• Write automated tests such as unit, acceptance, and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Work with Docker containers and deploy to AWS using CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform code reviews on peers' code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in web applications and provide timely resolutions.
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• 5+ years in web application development with PHP, Laravel, Linux, SQL/NoSQL databases, JavaScript, and Docker.
• Experience with frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, React.js.
• Proficient in Git for code management.
• Knowledgeable in OWASP and web security best practices.
• Strong object-oriented design skills.
• Proficient in relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and Docker.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Knowledgeable in RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experienced working in agile team environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating 508 compliant web frontends preferred.
• Familiarity with templating engines like Twig, Laravel Blade, etc., preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
