About the position

The Sr Demand Planner role is a critical position within the Supply Chain team, responsible for facilitating and driving the consensus process with cross-functional groups to determine an accurate forecast of expected shipments by brand. This role requires collaboration with various departments, including marketing, sales, and finance, to gain insights into marketing programs, new product introductions, pricing changes, promotions, and events that impact customer demand. The planner will lead the monthly consensus process, utilizing the information gathered to develop a forecast that aligns with Supply Chain service and inventory goals, while also creating the monthly financial forecast. In addition to forecasting, the Sr Demand Planner will track weekly and monthly forecast errors to identify contributing factors and make necessary adjustments to item and distribution center levels. The role involves performing total brand and item mix analysis, providing insights to lead volume discussions, and becoming a brand volume expert by understanding consumption and shipment trends, as well as category and industry dynamics. The planner will partner with supply planning to understand the supply chain implications of forecast changes and will be responsible for maintaining a 2-year forecast by demand forecasting unit in the forecasting system used for manufacturing and deployment planning. Timely updates regarding sales forecast details will be communicated to the Manager, and the planner will continuously seek improvements to the forecasting process to minimize forecast errors while sharing best practices among planners.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a 2-year forecast by demand forecasting unit in the forecasting system used for manufacturing and deployment planning; provide timely updates to Manager regarding sales forecast details.
  • Drive continuous improvement to the forecasting process to minimize forecast error.
  • Share best practices amongst planners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • 2-4 years work or education in logistics, demand planning/forecasting, supply planning, or supply chain related areas.
  • Efficiency in Excel and general knowledge of other MS Office applications required.
  • Forecasting or manufacturing systems experience preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
