About the position

The Senior Portfolio Manager - Technical Architect role at Amazon involves leading the design and development of industry-specific offerings and solutions within the AWS Professional Services team. This position focuses on ensuring architectural and technical quality across various product functionalities, particularly in cloud infrastructure, microservices, enterprise applications, and data platforms. The role requires collaboration with multiple teams to create scalable, cloud-native solutions that drive customer value and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single-threaded owner for architectural and technical quality for a set of product and solution functionalities/domains.
• Define architecture design standards for industry cloud offerings/solutions/products.
• Assess ideas harvested from the field regarding their technical design and capabilities.
• Architect and design highly scalable, cloud-native solutions on the AWS platform using core services like API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, and ECS/EKS.
• Manage the build-out of the technical assets associated with the Industry Solutions portfolio.
• Review code quality standards and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Collaborate with the ProServe Security Assurance organization to align on required regulatory and compliance standards.
• Conduct well-architected reviews of the solution design artifacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of technical architecture and design experience.
• 5+ years of experience with one or more popular Full Stack programming languages such as Java, Golang, SQL, Typescript, or Python.
• 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing cloud-native applications and microservices in a cloud environment.
• Experience leveraging core cloud services and technologies to build scalable applications.
