About the position

As a Senior Power BI Developer at Brillio, you will play a pivotal role in transforming business data into actionable insights through the development of Power BI reports and dashboards. With a focus on delivering high-quality BI solutions, you will analyze complex business problems and determine the most effective ways to leverage Power BI capabilities to meet organizational needs. Your responsibilities will include evaluating business requests for feasibility, cost, and compatibility with existing systems, as well as analyzing business requirements for reporting and data visualization. You will be expected to create and review technical design documents, ensuring that all changes adhere to established standards and processes. In this role, you will configure Power BI to deliver insightful reports and dashboards, coordinate user testing for acceptance of BI solutions, and validate deployments to ensure compliance with Change and Release Management processes. You will work within the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to document requirements for reporting and data analysis. Your expertise in SQL will be crucial as you develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries to ensure optimal performance of BI solutions. Staying abreast of emerging AI and BI technologies, trends, and best practices will be essential as you drive innovation within the organization. You will also provide ongoing support and training to business users on BI tools and reports, ensuring they can effectively utilize the solutions you develop. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business problems to determine the best way to apply Power BI report capabilities to deliver solutions.
  • Evaluate business requests to determine feasibility, cost, and time required, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities.
  • Analyze business requirements for reporting/visualizations, data models, and databases.
  • Review technical specifications derived from technical requirements.
  • Create and review/approve technical design documents and specifications on change requests and assignments within a project while maintaining documentation in conformance with standards.
  • Configure Power BI to deliver Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Coordinate user testing for acceptance of BI solutions.
  • Deploy and validate Power BI solutions ensuring changes follow appropriate Change and Release Management processes.
  • Work within the System Development Life Cycle.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and document business requirements for reporting and data analysis.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to business users on BI tools and reports.
  • Stay updated with emerging AI & BI technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Drive innovation by proposing and implementing new BI solutions and capabilities that enhance our platform's value proposition.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data or business analytics report development and data visualization.
  • Experience with Power BI required.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
  • Highly organized with excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and simultaneously maintain multiple projects at a high level of quality/productivity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience reporting with D365 finance and operation data entities is a plus.
