About the position

The Sr Power BI Developer at MidFirst Bank serves as a crucial link between technology teams and business areas, focusing on troubleshooting and translating technical issues related to reports and data. This role involves enhancing reporting solutions, ensuring data quality, and maintaining BI solutions while providing exceptional customer service through collaboration and partnership with business units.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between technology teams and business areas to troubleshoot and translate technical problems related to reports and report data.
• Assist business users with functional and data requirements to enhance reports and report data.
• Support business data experts on select data repositories and assist with project implementations and modifications.
• Follow best practices to support dashboards, metrics, scorecards, and reporting solutions, emphasizing customer service and collaboration.
• Investigate, review, and analyze data from multiple sources to maintain quality and understand the source structures and business relevance.
• Translate business requirements into reporting and dashboard solutions that provide relevant business information in a user-friendly format.
• Monitor recurring processes to ensure output accuracy and timely distribution, responsible for maintenance and enhancements of these processes.
• Follow best practices in data modeling and source-to-target mapping.
• Perform planned maintenance on BI solutions and underlying infrastructure.
• Develop and follow adequate security procedures.
• Contribute technical knowledge to training programs and support processes.
• Conduct report demonstrations and training sessions for business units and developers.
• Collaborate with the business unit development team to review data model and report specifications.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or equivalent Power BI development experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in complex development and scripting SQL.
• 3-5 years of experience developing with advanced Power BI tools including DAX, M, and Power Query.
• 3-5 years of experience with advanced Power BI report development techniques including bookmarking, selection pane, and dynamic measures.
• 3-5 years of experience developing reports and dashboards using end-user tools such as Paginated Reports Builder, Power BI Desktop, and Visual Studio.
• 3-5 years of experience using Visual Studio and SSMS to develop Analysis Services Tabular models.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure platform and services including Power BI, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong understanding of establishing and maintaining Row Level Security in Azure Analysis Services/Power BI tabular models.
• Expertise in database and data warehouse designs, data modeling, and ETL processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to create calculated members and KPIs.
• Experience with Tabular Editor and DAX Studio.
