About the position

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Sr. Principal Computer Systems Analyst to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position plays a critical role in developing computer systems specifications that align with business requirements and adhere to the company's system architecture standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and documenting system parameters and formats, ensuring compatibility between hardware and software systems, and coordinating modifications to system parameters based on current and projected computer capacity and capabilities. Additionally, the role involves revising existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and enhance data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting and integrating Linux operating systems, Cisco networks, and both Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products. Proficiency in scripting or command line operations within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows-based systems is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as the role involves conducting demo test runs for higher-level management and government customers. The ability to thrive in a high-stress and dynamic environment is crucial for success in this position. This position is contingent upon award and requires a current Secret security clearance. Candidates with a high school diploma or GED must have 13 years of applicable experience, while those with a Bachelor's Degree need 9 years of engineering experience, and those with a Master's Degree require 5 years. An additional 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. The role also demands a current security certification, such as Security+ CE or CISSP, to ensure compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop computer systems specifications that address business requirements and fit with the company's system architecture standards.
  • Establish and document system parameters and formats, ensuring hardware and software systems compatibility.
  • Coordinate and modify system parameters based on existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
  • Revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
  • Conduct demo test runs to higher-level management and government customers.
  • Integrate COTS, GOTS, and custom software in a security-constrained environment.
  • Configure and operate specific test tools within the NG IBCS customer Software Integration Lab.
  • Build test tool systems that operate on various operating systems including RedHat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux, CentOS Linux, ESXi, and Windows 10.
  • Install test tool software and their respective updates.
  • Review test tool systems' ACAS and STIG scans and modify OS as necessary to adhere to DCSA and NG Information Security Policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 13 years of applicable experience; or a Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of Engineering experience; or a Master's and 5 years; 4 additional years acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong troubleshooting and integration skills with Linux OS, Cisco networks, and GOTS/COTS products.
  • Ability to script or work at the command line level within RHEL systems and Windows-based systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct demo test runs to higher-level management and government customers.
  • Ability to work within a high-stress and dynamic environment.
  • Current Security certification (e.g., Security+ CE or CISSP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Linux Administration Experience (RHEL).
  • Experience with Army Systems of Systems (ASOS) and/or Air Defense (ADA).
  • Network testing and troubleshooting within Cisco networks, specifically Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices utilizing static and dynamic routing as well as virtual interfaces.
  • Experience integrating COTS, GOTS, and custom software in a security-constrained environment.
  • Experience with specific test tools such as IBCS Test Executor (ITEx), Network System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE), and others.
