About the position

The Senior Principal DevSecOps Engineer at Northrop Grumman is responsible for planning and evolving processes and infrastructure to support rapid maturation and deployment of capabilities while maintaining a stable security posture. This role involves integrating development pipelines, implementing provisioning and deployment techniques, and ensuring the implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. The position requires a strong background in DevSecOps practices and collaboration within an agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure for rapid capability deployment.
  • Integrate development pipelines leveraging automation and test-driven development tools.
  • Implement provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging, componentizing, or Cloud distribution.
  • Ensure implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and automated testing for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work within agile principles to execute efficiently in a continuous feedback environment.

Requirements

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at time of application.
  • Must be willing to submit and successfully pass a polygraph.
  • Must have a completed STEM degree (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics).
  • 8 years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's (STEM), 6 years with a completed Master's (STEM), or 4 years with a completed PhD (STEM).
  • Experience with developing microservices.
  • Must hold a Security+ Certification.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS/C2S, and Terraform.
  • Experience with Linux and Ansible.
  • Experience with Jira, Jenkins, and Git/Version Control Software.
  • Ability to express technical information clearly at different organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with API Security, Container Security, and AWS Cloud Security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active/Adjudicated Polygraph (CI or FSP).
  • Experience creating, developing, and implementing solutions to address infrastructure and security requirements.
  • Ability to identify the needs to build automation and design and implement CI/CD solutions.
  • Experience working with Docker containers and Helm charts.
  • Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design.
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Excellent technical writing and team building skills.
