We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Senior Principal Digital Product Designer (UX/IX) supporting the Digital Health Team in Ft. Worth, TX, you will play a key role in leading ongoing discovery efforts to inform and design the UX and UI of our digital healthcare solutions, that will drive impactful outcomes for patients and eye doctors. This role is responsible for the end-to-end design process of digital products including conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. You will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product, and to ensure a great and intuitive user experience, iterating upon it in accordance with user-testing. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary agile product team to design intuitive and compelling digital health experiences across our suite of digital healthcare solutions. In this role, a typical day will include advocating for user-centered design solutions and testing strategies, prioritizing research opportunities, and developing research roadmaps. You will translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences. You will facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences for digital products. You will design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces. Identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions in alignment with the brand will be part of your responsibilities. You will make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features. Taking a user-centered design approach, you will rapidly test and iterate your designs. Collaboration with other cross-functional teams and key stakeholders will be essential. You will be expected to be curious and inquisitive, take appropriate risks, and champion new ideas. Facilitating co-creative workshops with key stakeholders to drive alignment and develop new solutions will also be part of your role. Tracking user experience metrics and reporting on the success of UX improvements will be crucial. Additionally, you will mature our Design System through feedback and active contribution of know-how and components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma and Dovetail and the like is a must.
  • Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
