About the position

The Sr Principal Electrical Engineer at Analogic is a key role focused on designing and developing high-performance switching amplifiers and power supplies. This position requires extensive hands-on experience and expertise in various electrical engineering topologies, contributing to life-saving medical technology and advanced aviation security systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop switching amplifiers and power supplies from the ground up, ranging from 100 W to 100 kW.
  • Design and specify magnetics from scratch.
  • Troubleshoot mixed signal circuits to the component level.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to both internal and external customers.
  • Document and maintain detailed development and test data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience designing switching power supplies or amplifiers.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 is helpful but not required.
  • Experience with power supplies and amplifiers switching in the 20 kHz to 100 kHz range.
  • Comfortable with basic switching topologies such as flyback, full H-bridge, forward, and resonant.
  • Proficiency in simulation software like LT Spice and Matlab.
  • Experience with schematic capture tools such as OrCad/Allegro.
  • Hands-on experience in a lab environment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow electrical and mechanical schematics accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Software/Firmware ability with microprocessors and FPGAs.
