About the position

The Sr Principal Engineer Systems - SE Architecture Team Lead will oversee the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. This role involves leading a team of systems engineers, ensuring compliance with engineering processes, and maintaining metrics of team progress. The position requires strong technical competence and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders to develop integrated solutions for missile defense operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SE Architecture team and report to the SE Engineering Manager.
• Maintain accurate metrics of team progress and support staffing responsibilities.
• Act as a reviewer of products to ensure quality and compliance with SE Architecture team processes.
• Analyze high-level needs and refine them into an integrated set of requirements.
• Work directly with multiple customer and contractor organizations to define solutions.
• Communicate technical approaches and findings effectively to diverse audiences.

Requirements

• An active Secret clearance is required to start.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
• Proven track record of applying systems engineering principles to develop product solutions.
• Experience developing system engineering artifacts such as specifications and interface control documents.
• Experience using systems engineering tools for requirements management (e.g., DOORS).
• Experience working in an integrated team environment with system, software, and specialty engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using C2BMC processes and methods.
• Knowledge of C2BMC architecture and implementation.
• Experience in Ballistic Missile defense.
• Experience leading and directing the activities of other systems engineers.
