About the position

The Sr Principal I&T Engineer will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying advanced ground operational systems for the SDA O&I/GMI program. This role requires a blend of software and systems engineering expertise, with a focus on satellite communications and ground operations. The position emphasizes leadership in the software development life cycle and collaboration within a team to achieve technical success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy state-of-the-art ground operational systems for the SDA O&I/GMI program.
• Lead the software development life cycle and apply technical standards to solve engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure buy-in on concepts and ideas.
• Provide technical leadership and support the professional development of team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
• 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of satellite communications and ground to satellite communication systems.
• Experience in ground operations.
• Familiarity with AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Experience in missile warning/missile tracking system integration and operations.
