About the position

The Sr. Principal Software Engineer - SW CI/CD Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves leading the Human Factors Engineering (HFE) Program within the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. This role is critical in integrating missile defense systems and ensuring that user interface designs meet operational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with military operators and stakeholders to enhance system usability and support missile defense operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support systems engineering, event execution, and test and analysis activities to validate high-quality UI products.
  • Prepare test objectives and review event execution and analysis plans and procedures.
  • Prepare data collection plans and materials for testing.
  • Execute testing of the C2BMC UI during system test execution.
  • Act as a technical interface to system operators on Human Machine Interface (HMI) issues.
  • Support Warfighter Involvement activities and participate in Agile Release Train (ART) meetings.
  • Apply military standards to support the needs of C2BMC end users.
  • Participate in Missile Defense System ground and flight tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Current active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance.
  • Experience in developing and executing a Human Factors Engineering (HFE) Program based on MIL-STD-46855A guidelines.
  • Experience with UI development for military systems and integrating feedback from military operational users.
  • Understanding of large-scale software development environments and systems engineering activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline with 8 years experience; or Master's degree with 6 years experience.
