About the position

As a Systems Engineer at Sierra Nevada Corporation, you will leverage your expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and enhance cutting-edge products and services. This role involves developing complex system architectures and managing them through the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all internal and external activities required to integrate, verify, validate, and certify the EFVS MMWR system for the commercial aviation market.
  • Define the testing strategy to ensure the product meets all FAA requirements.
  • Manage the testing and certification processes in collaboration with the Integrated Product Team.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels regarding project status and requirements.
  • Act as a control account manager (CAM) responsible for planning and managing cost and schedule performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 16 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems in a digital engineering environment.
  • Proficient experience in requirements definition, system architecture specification, interface definition, and system verification and validation.
  • Experience with industry-standard systems engineering and modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and EnterpriseArchitect.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral.
  • Experience with industry-standard systems engineering and modeling languages such as SysML, UML, ADL.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard systems engineering and modeling tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB, and Simulink.
  • INCOSE Professional Certification.
