About the position

The Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Field Service Representative (FSR) role at Northrop Grumman involves providing direct support to a U.S. Navy unit embedded with a Marine Targeting Cell (MTC) prototype system. The FSR will be responsible for training Navy personnel on system operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring the system remains mission-capable. This position requires extensive travel, including a long-term assignment in Hawaii, and involves working with advanced technologies in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to a Northrop Grumman Marine Targeting Cell (MTC) prototype system for the U.S. Navy.
• Train Sailors on system hardware and software operations.
• Support Sailors with system employment and routine maintenance.
• Execute Hardware Preventative Maintenance and write procedures.
• Perform Break Fix/Touch Maintenance and manage inventory control/shipping and receiving at the site.
• Coordinate for and support external interface integration and testing efforts.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's-STEM degree; 6+ years with a Master's-STEM degree; 4+ years with a PhD-STEM degree.
• Active/Final Top Secret/SCI DoD security clearance at time of application.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various hardware and software systems including antennas, servers, and operating systems.
• Experience with installation of containerized software systems using Docker.
• Must have Security+ certification and meet DoD 8570.1-M requirements at IAT II or IAT III Level.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of operational experience supporting RF antennas in a multi-INT environment.
• Hold VMware VCP-DCV certification and at least one other relevant certification (e.g., MCSA, Linux+, CCNA).
• Experience performing testing on VMware using written documentation.
