Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Solutions Architect in Aurora, CO. This role is critical as multiple front-end business pursuits require an independent-minded systems engineer who can develop architectures from existing capabilities adapted to emerging customer needs. You will be part of the Front End of the Business team working on various avenues of pursuit for business growth. Successful candidates can expect up to 10% travel. In this position, you will be responsible for creating model-based systems engineering architectural artifacts that represent our capabilities in a solution tailored to customer pursuits. You will establish and manage a product vision, strategy, and goals to align capabilities with customer needs. Additionally, you will identify project, enterprise, and technology needs that affect the definition of the appropriate lifecycle model and utilize these insights in decision-making. Developing program growth strategies and supporting capture/proposal efforts will also be key components of your role. This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus.

Responsibilities

  • Creating model based systems engineering architectural artifacts which represent our capabilities in a solution representative of customer pursuits
  • Establishing and managing a product vision, strategy and goals to align capabilities with Customer
  • Identifying project, enterprise and technology needs affecting the definition of the appropriate lifecycle model and uses these in decision making
  • Developing program growth strategies and supports capture/proposal efforts

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, or related Technical field with a minimum 10+ years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps environments
  • Experience in Satellite Command & Control, Mission Management or Flight Dynamics domains
  • Active and transferable DOD TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start date with ability to obtain SAP. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience capturing new business to include working with customers to understand needs, shaping future work and win strategies, and developing strong positive relationships with the customer community
  • Experience leading a technically diverse engineering team
  • Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools, such as AFSIM
  • Experience with Ground Systems Integration
  • Experience developing Basis of Estimates, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates
  • Experience with Open Architecture development
