About The Position
We are seeking a full-time Senior Printed Circuit Board Designer to join our team in either Olathe, KS or Cary, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for creating complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from schematics, collaborating closely with Design Engineering teams. As a departmental expert in one or more areas of technology, you will play a key role in ensuring that our PCB designs are timely, robust, and economical. You will partner with Product Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce these designs, acting as a key technical contributor and an expert in the interface between ECAD and MCAD systems. Your thorough knowledge of Garmin processes and procedures will be leveraged as you lead major research or product development projects that consist of multiple modules or sub-projects. This alignment with Garmin's mission and vision is crucial. You will serve as an expert in data setup for all types of PCB design technology used at Garmin, recognizing design technology changes and finding innovative ways to implement these designs using our current tools. Additionally, you will lead the advancement of team capabilities by identifying and testing new PCB design technologies for ECAD software. In this position, you will develop reliable solutions to exceedingly complex problems that require individual thought and creativity. Effective communication with all project stakeholders, including Electrical, Process, and Mechanical Engineering teams, is essential. As an expert in PCB Design and Engineering processes, you will also mentor one or more PCB Designers, offering suggestions for process improvements and authoring new procedures. A working knowledge of Garmin's ECAD Library is also expected.
