About the position

At Illumina, we are on a mission to expand access to genomic technology and realize health equity for billions of people around the world. As a Senior Process Engineer in our Flow Cell Technical Operations team, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support for the design, release, stabilization, and eventual site transfer of new products and process technologies. This position is pivotal in contributing to the development and release of next-generation Flow Cell manufacturing technology, particularly through the support of highly automated and innovative laser-based processes. You will also be involved in sustaining efforts on optical, mechanical, and electrical systems within a high-volume consumables manufacturing environment. Your work will directly impact cost savings and product transfer initiatives, making you a leader in driving continuous improvement projects within our fleet of laser systems. In this role, you will represent Operations needs on product development teams for genomic applications, lead optical process development, and troubleshoot high-volume production line issues related to yield, quality, and throughput. You will construct and execute controlled experiments, analyze process test results, and work cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure successful design transfer to manufacturing for new products and sustaining on-market products. Your expertise will also be essential in defining technical requirements, writing procedures for production, and collaborating with external partners and suppliers to design and install new manufacturing equipment and technology. As a Laser Safety Officer, you will ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of laser safety procedures, applying your mechanical, optical, and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues as they arise.
