The Sr. Process Engineer will be based at our Fayetteville, NC site within the Electronics and Imaging Business. This role is crucial for providing day-to-day technical support to the Vinyl Fluoride Operation. The successful candidate will leverage their technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve issues, and ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality products at low costs. The engineer will be expected to study historical data, collaborate with subject matter experts, and earn the respect of the operations team through excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise. Key responsibilities include utilizing the Most Effective Technology (MET) to optimize plant performance, conducting advanced troubleshooting, and maintaining a strong field presence to reinforce the importance of safety and operational discipline. The engineer will also be responsible for reviewing daily KPIs and trends, responding urgently to plant issues, and providing leadership in raw material efficiency. Compliance with plant operating permits and site integration optimization will also be part of the role. Continuous improvement, value creation, and financial acumen will be essential to accelerate profitability and enhance service quality. The engineer will mentor other technical staff and operators, ensuring a culture of safety and performance excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the Vinyl Fluoride Operation.
  • Utilize defined Most Effective Technology (MET) and challenge assumptions when better solutions arise.
  • Ensure effective utilization of Process Automation to optimize plant performance.
  • Partner with experts for advanced troubleshooting and improve operating discipline.
  • Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
  • Conduct daily reviews of logbook and alarm history to understand plant operations.
  • Maintain and review daily KPIs/trends to ensure optimum performance.
  • Respond urgently to plant issues and act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events.
  • Drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in plant Raw Material Efficiency, including yield and waste generation.
  • Ensure compliance with plant operating permits.
  • Understand site integration and provide input to optimize the overall system.
  • Drive high levels of quality, responsiveness, and reliability for the customer.
  • Maximize plant margin by understanding daily production and cost metrics.
  • Mentor technical staff and operators in process fundamentals and safety application.
  • Participate in upgrading products and processes through capital and cost equipment upgrades.
  • Strengthen Process Safety Management (PSM) performance and compliance.

Requirements

  • BS Chemical Engineering Degree required.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or related experience required.
  • Process Safety Management experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Project Management expertise using Global Product Methodology is required.
  • Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
