About the position

The Sr Process Engineer at Honeywell is responsible for managing complex industrial engineering projects aimed at enhancing plant productivity and operational efficiencies. This role involves applying advanced engineering technologies and methodologies to monitor, control, and improve various aspects of plant operations. The engineer will work independently, exercising significant discretion in determining technical objectives and leading initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes departmental and inter-departmental product to identify and eliminate non-value added activities.
  • Coordinates the development of layouts and major rearrangements for manufacturing and inspection departments to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develops standard time values for manufacturing and inspection operations.
  • Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes data, and leads improvements for product, test equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Estimates set-up times, operating times, and flow times, as well as production needs.
  • Compiles cost estimates, monitors performance, and prepares reports and recommendations for management.
  • Prepares specifications and coordinates the procurement of equipment and facilities.
  • Uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to evaluate and recommend improvements to engineering and production problems.
  • Establishes methods and procedures for conducting workload impact and cost analyses.
  • Plans, conducts, and coordinates special studies as directed by General Management.
  • Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex projects.
  • Conducts technical reviews to assist management in optimizing staffing levels and organizational structures.
  • Prepares conceptual design studies and develops material handling systems.
  • Monitors construction of facilities to ensure conformance with design intent.
  • Leads the development and implementation of major projects including work measurement and material control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or a degree in Physics from an accredited program.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing or quality processes and techniques.
  • Experience in project leadership and providing technical guidance.
  • Ability to work independently with latitude for decision making.
