About the position

The Sr Processing Technician at Octapharma Plasma plays a crucial role in the collection, storage, and shipping of plasma bottles and samples. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines and ensuring the safety and quality of plasma collection. The technician will also be responsible for training new employees and leading operations in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall mission of creating life-saving medicines for patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and accurate collection, storage, and shipping of plasma bottles and samples
• Maintain compliance with SOP, current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP), and regulatory guidelines
• Accountable for area operations to accommodate production levels and donor arrival patterns
• Train and provide leadership to new/existing employees
• Ensure prompt and sterile collection of plasma samples
• Perform all required quality controls and report issues to Quality Assurance and Management
• Remain alert for any adverse donor reactions and notify appropriate staff
• Clean blood or plasma spills and perform proper procedure for disposition of biohazardous waste
• Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures
• Conduct daily calibration of equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year experience in laboratory or warehouse environment
• Licensure required by the state of employment
• Team lead/Supervisor experience
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
• Ability to lift up to thirty-five pounds
• Ability to enter environment with temperature of -40C for short periods of time
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Demonstrates consistency and reliability
• CPR certification
