About the position

As a Senior Product Designer at Smartsheet, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of work by designing first-in-class enterprise administration experiences and dashboards. This position focuses on creating valuable and delightful user experiences through human-centered design methodologies, ensuring that the product meets the needs of a diverse user base. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to elevate design quality and craft compelling narratives that guide stakeholders through the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of delivering quality user experiences.
  • Set a high bar for ideas, craftsmanship, and quality in design.
  • Listen to user needs, define problems, and propose iterations to improve experiences.
  • Articulate user goals and needs to various audiences.
  • Create design artifacts that demonstrate intended customer experiences.
  • Rapidly iterate on designs to test hypotheses and find effective solutions.
  • Craft narratives to engage stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Provide detailed design specifications for engineers to implement designs effectively.
  • Collaborate with product partners to define user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Co-author documentation outlining problems, solutions, and success metrics.
  • Support usability testing and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Attend Engineering ceremonies to support the delivery of high-quality experiences.
  • Be open to supporting additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design experience
  • Growth mindset
  • Passion for Software as a Service (SaaS) and Collaborative Work Management (CWM)
  • Experience in designing complex interactions, dashboards, and enterprise admin tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to articulate problems and design rationale clearly
  • Experience working with researchers and conducting user research
  • Degree in Design (Interaction, Product, Communication, HCD, or related) or equivalent experience
  • Expert in Figma for both static mocks and interactive prototypes
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
