About the position

The Senior Product Designer at Rakuten Rewards will play a crucial role in enhancing user experiences through innovative motion and visual design. This position focuses on creating dynamic interactions across various platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design excellence and adherence to brand guidelines. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in design systems and motion graphics to elevate the overall user experience, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing design team.

Responsibilities

• Craft motion UX behaviors, systems, and animations for various product platforms (Web & Native apps) to enhance user interactions.
• Build wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
• Lead the definition and communication of motion design guidelines, best practices, and standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all product experiences.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional counterparts to understand product requirements and translate business goals into innovative design opportunities.
• Collaborate with Design System and Brand leads to ensure all design elements adhere to Rakuten Rewards' design guidelines.
• Partner with developers to bridge the gap from design to production, ensuring that motion design is effectively integrated into product builds.
• Contribute to a collaborative environment where designers, developers, and other stakeholders work together to create the best possible outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a design discipline such as Human-Computer Interaction, UI/UX, Graphic Design, or Digital Media Arts.
• 5+ years of experience designing digital products (web and iOS/Android) in close partnership with Product and Engineering.
• Proficiency with design, prototyping, and motion software, e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Figma, Principle, Framer X, Lottie.

• Understanding of basic front-end languages.
• Design experience within an e-commerce or marketplace with a mobile-first mentality.
• Excellent communication skills, an engaging presentation style, and strong visual storytelling.
